SHOOT

Terms of Use

Last updated 21 September 2026

SHOOT swaps business cards between phones standing together. Using it means agreeing to these terms. They are short because the app is small: there are no accounts, no feed, and nothing of yours on our side.

What SHOOT does

You write your own card. When you and the people around you tap at the same moment, your card goes to them and theirs comes to you, and only if you both keep each other. A card only ever reaches somebody who was standing beside you when you both tapped.

There is no feed, no profile anybody can browse, no messaging, and no way to send anything to a person who is not there with you at that moment.

Your card is your responsibility

What is on your card is what you typed. We do not check whether your job title, your company or your name are true, any more than a print shop checks a paper card. If you put something false on it, that is between you and the person you handed it to.

No tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users

Do not put objectionable content on a card. That includes slurs, harassment, threats, sexual content, and impersonating somebody else. Do not use SHOOT to harass anybody. There is no tolerance for either.

The app refuses a small list of slurs in your card's text. That is a check on the phone, not a promise that everything reaching you has been vetted: nothing passes through a moderator, because nothing passes through us at all.

What you can do about somebody

What we can do, and what we cannot

We read reports and act on them within 24 hours. Being straight with you about what "act" can mean here matters more than sounding impressive:

If somebody behaves in a way that is criminal, that is a matter for the police, and we will help where we can.

Age

SHOOT is for adults exchanging professional contact details. It is not directed at children under 13.

The app itself

SHOOT is provided as it is. We do our best to keep it working, and it depends on things we do not control — your phone, your network, and your location being read accurately enough to find the people beside you. We are not liable for a card that did not arrive, or for what anybody does with a card you gave them.

Your data

What the app holds and what it does not is set out in the privacy policy. In short: your cards live on your phone, and our relay keeps nothing.

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them.
